Catherine Simbe

Catherine Simbe

Client Relations Representative

Animals have always held a special place in Cat’s heart. From a young age, she knew she would one day find a way to make a career out of helping them. Their individual personalities and inherent good intentions strongly influenced Cat’s decision to enter the licensed veterinary technician field and become a lifelong advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Cat graduated college with a double major in primate behavior and ecology, and anthropology. During her studies, she had the opportunity to participate in an enrichment externship at Woodland Park Zoo, in the Tropical Rainforest Unit. After spending a day in their on-site veterinary hospital, Cat’s interest in the medical side of animal care was officially piqued.

When the time came to seek employment outside of Woodland Park Zoo, Cat came across an opening at Alpine View Veterinary Hospital and officially joined the team in 2006.

Amanda Lind

Amanda Lind

Client Relations Representative

There’s an old adage that says: “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” Well, after being a client of Alpine View Veterinary Hospital for over 15 years, Amanda took that saying to heart and decided to become a part of the team.

In addition to running our busy front desk, Amanda is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree. After that, she plans on applying to WSU for their veterinary program.

At home, Amanda is “mom” to five fur-babies of her own, including four cats (Starlight, Nemi, Voodoo and Salem), and a pit-lab mix named Ecko. She also has multiple exotic pets, including a few geckos and several tree frogs.

Erika Vargas

Erika Vargas

Client Relations Representative, Animal Care Attendant

Erika came to Alpine View as a student intern for school while working towards completing the Veterinary Assistant Certificate course through Sno-Isle Skills Institute. Although, Erika started as a student intern she was quickly invited to join our client AND patient healthcare team, filling two roles as both our Hospital Attendant/Animal caregiver as well as working at the front desk as a Client Relations Representative. Erika has lived in Monroe for most of her life so she was beyond excited to be offered a position here at Alpine View Veterinary Hospital! She says that “she is looking forward to a long future working and learning here at Alpine View!” Erika’s kindness with our patients, coupled with her skills as a Client Representative, along with her ability to speak Spanish fluently makes her an absolute asset to Alpine View. Erika loves exploring her Mexican culture as much as her American culture and is interested in expanding her knowledge and skills in preparing authentic Mexican cuisine. Outside of work Erika also enjoys spending time with her family, siblings, and friends. They currently have three chickens “Galleta, Cinnamon, and Honey.”

Emely Alonso

Emely Alonso

Client Relations Representative, Animal Care Attendant

Ever since she was a young child, Emely knew she wanted to work with animals. Growing up, she spent her summers helping out on a farm in Oregon. In fact, she hopes to one day get the opportunity to work with farm animals again, and maybe even have one of her own. For now, she’s content working with the many sweet souls who cross the threshold here at Alpine View Veterinary Hospital.

Prior to joining the Alpine View family, Emely had built a career in early childhood education. After three years in the classroom, however, she knew in her heart that it wasn’t her true passion. That would only be fulfilled by pursuing her lifelong dream of working with animals professionally. Emely enrolled in Penn Foster and joined the Alpine View team in September of 2023.

In her dual role of receptionist and vet assistant, Emely loves being able to help clients and patients in multiple ways. She also has a special interest in laser therapy and loves puppy and kitten visits (but then again, who doesn’t?!?). Eventually, Emely hopes to become a veterinary technician so she can make even more of an impact on the lives of pets and their humans.

Emely’s family outside of work consists of her significant other, Alex, and their two pups: Leo and Scooby. Leo is an energetic Australian Shepherd who enjoys being the center of attention, and Scooby is a unique boy who splits his time between snoozing on the couch and banishing squirrels from the yard.

Aside from animals, Emely’s other two passions are reading and learning new things. She’s currently working on mastering a new language. A fun fact about Emely is that she had a lifelong fear of cats until she met Mufasa, one of the house kitties here at Alpine View. Slowly but surely, Mufasa won Emely’s heart and helped her conquer her fear. He may even be the reason she adopts a kitten one of these days.
